Decide

The bid decision. Scribble's recommendation, the evidence behind it, and your call to bid, hold or pass.

2 min read · Updated

Decide is the stage Paavya exists for: should we pursue this opportunity? Bidding the wrong work costs weeks of your best people. Decide puts the evidence in one place so the call is made on purpose, with the reasons on the record.

The Decide stage for the GSA MAS refresh: Scribble recommends Bid because nothing on file stands in the way, fit 61 out of 100 with low confidence, and the calls Bid, Hold and No bid
Decide. One recommendation, its confidence and the three calls.

Scribble's recommendation

Scribble recommends Bid (with any conditions still open) or Hold until there is enough to judge. It never recommends walking away on its own; passing is a person's call. Beside it:

  • Fit out of 100 and its confidence. Fit reads how well this opportunity matches your company. Confidence says how much evidence stands behind it. Neither is a chance of winning.
  • How the fit is calculated shows each signal and what it rests on.

The evidence

Show details opens what the recommendation rests on:

Decide with details shown: top signals for buyer history, past performance and capacity, each with a link to its evidence, and the next actions
The top signals, each with a door to its evidence.
  • Four pillars: buyer history, past performance, capacity and competitive signals. Each is strong, mixed, weak or No record when nothing is on file, never a guess.
  • Conditions: pass/fail requirements still open and risks found in the solicitation, each with its ways through.
  • What would change the call: what has to happen for the recommendation to move, such as clearing a condition, and which risks would not move it.
  • Where you stand to win is shown apart from whether to bid. A contested position does not by itself mean pass.

Making the call

  • Bid commits the team. Develop opens.
  • Hold parks it, with a date to come back to.
  • No bid passes. The pursuit shows "No bid" everywhere, and it can be reopened later.

Each call asks you to confirm, and you can add your reasons. The decision is recorded with who made it, when and what the evidence said at the time. That snapshot is what Outcome compares the result against later.
